F2A™: Mechanism of Action
F2A is a synthetic peptide modeled on fibroblast growth factor-2. It binds with high affinity to specific cell surface receptors, thereby activating cellular signaling pathways.1 That cellular activation by F2A, in a soft tissue wound setting for example, is designed to result in cell proliferation and migration of stem cells into the wound bed. It also stimulates the production of new blood vessels (angiogenesis). The collective activation of cells should accelerate the healing process and lead to a rapid and strengthened tissue healing.1
